Because of a new railway junction for intercity trains Oberhof is very easy to reach via Erfurt, the capital of Thuringia.
It takes about 1h 40min to reach Erfurt from Berlin or Dresden and about 2 and half an hour from Frankfurt or Munich.
From Erfurt it will take another 45 min to reach the railway station of Zella-Mehlis from where buses will take you to Oberhof regularly.

By car
Motorway 4 - leave motorway 4 at the exit Gotha and follow road Nr. 247 to Oberhof
Motorway 71- leave motorway 71 at the exit Oberhof
In Oberhof follow the signposts showing the direction Schmalkalden / Steinbach-Hallenberg. After passing the main junction in the village centre the road leads uphill.
On the top of the hill turn left and you will have reached Sporthotel Oberhof within less than a minute.
